Post-recital thoughts
Well, the recital is over! I’m thankful that it went so well — all of the musicians who participated worked very, very hard, and the recital was a success! So here’s a big thank you to everyone who put so much time into the music.
So it’s on to new projects! With only half a semester left in my Master’s, I still have lots to do: there are those commissions for Carolyn Holland (a setting of Garcia Lorca’s El Grito), a piano solo for Courtney Popow (entitled Frescoes), some incidental music for a play next month, a miniature song cycle on some comical texts for Delaura Talbert, and a possible commission for wind ensemble. In addition to these pieces, I want to set several texts for choir; another Latin piece in the vein of the Five Motets, and a TTBB When David Heard, possibly for use in a choir up east.
Still waiting to hear on a few competitions. I’ll post on those when I find out more!
